HOW THE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP WORKS
Each year, the Cowboys will stage four “Bulk Ports Blitzes” across NQBP’s port communities.
The Blitzes are a two-day, action-packed community programme run by Cowboys legends such as Matthew Bowen and Brent Tate, along with development officers from the club.
On day one of the blitz, the Cowboys will host a training session for local school students, giving them the opportunity to hone their skills with the North’s premier rugby league team. As well as skills on the field, the students will also learn first-hand how success in any endeavour is built on commitment and making the right choices off the field.
On day two, the Cowboys will visit up to five schools, delivering their programme. Tailored to each schools needs, this program uses the personality power of the players to encourage kids to make the right choices for success.
Throughout the year, NQBP will work with local community leaders and representatives to provide the opportunity to community members to have the pleasure of seeing their heroes in action on the Cowboys home ground.
