    ** As charged by the Mackay Regional Council from time to time. Council charge as at 1 July 2017 is $2.62 per kilolitre (no GST applicable) and is generally reassessed/increased by council around the middle of each calendar year.

    PLEASE NOTE - Port charges levied are those applicable on the date the ship departs the berth or mooring area.  The due date for payment of port charges is 30 days from the date of invoice (or as otherwise indicated on the invoice).  All debts not paid by the due date may incur interest based on the Commonwealth Bank Overdraft Reference Rate plus 2%, charged daily from the due date until the total debt (port charges plus any accrued interest) is paid in full.  NQBP may recover an administrative fee (minimum of $100) and any additional administration costs or legal costs (including any external legal costs based on invoiced accounts) incurred by NQBP as part of the debt recovery process in addition to the invoiced port charges and any accrued interest (these fees and charges are deemed to be an additional port charge).

    • Harbour dues are payable in respect of all live animals discharged at or shipped from or transhipped or carried within the port at the rate of $1.01 per head ($1.11 per head inclusive of GST). No other harbour dues apply.
    • The charge for a ship lying up shall be $257.80 per day ($283.58 per day inclusive of GST) or part of a day. A ship occupies a wharf while it is:
      • Not moving, other than because of currents or waves and
      • In a position that limits another ship’s access to the wharf.
    • A minimum charge of $257.80 ($283.58 inclusive of GST) applies to any ship loading or unloading cargo at any wharf within the Port of Weipa
    • Harbour dues shall not be payable in respect of ships stores when shipped in the port for consumption or use by the loading ship.
    • Neither harbour dues nor lay-up charges are payable on:
      • A fishing vessel
      • A private vessel that is less than 30m long
      • A line launch, tug or other vessel that is performing functions on behalf of NQBP.

  • Harbour dues

    • Harbour dues at the rate of $0.144 per tonne ($0.158/tonne inclusive of GST) are payable in respect of all coal, coke or similar material shipped from the port.
    • Harbour dues are not payable on ship’s stores when shipped in the port for consumption or use by the loading ship.

    Tonnage dues

    • Tonnage dues at the rate of $0.068GRT ($0.075/GRT inclusive of GST) are payable in respect of each ship in excess of 1,000 gross registered tonnes.

    Mooring fees

    • Mooring fees at the rate of $30.687 per day ($33.75) per day inclusive of GST) or $122.28 per week ($134.50 per week inclusive of GST) are payable in respect of ships using Bowen Wharves 1 and 2.

  • Harbour dues

    • Hay Point Coal Terminal (HPCT): Harbour dues at the rate of $0.062 per tonne ($0.068 per tonne inclusive of GST) are payable in respect of all coal, coke or similar material shipped from HPCT.
    • Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT): Harbour dues at the rate of $0.072 per tonne ($0.079 per tonne inclusive of GST) are payable in respect of all coal, coke or similar material shipped from DBCT.
    • Hay Point Tug Harbour: Harbour dues at the rate of $5,749.28 per ship ($6,324.21 per ship inclusive of GST) plus $1.07 per tonne ($1.17) per tonne inclusive of GST) are payable in respect of all goods not otherwise specified herein unloaded within or adjacent to the Hay Point Tug Harbour.

    Harbour dues are not payable on ships stores when shipped in the port for consumption or use by the loading ship.

    Tonnage dues

    • Tonnage dues at the rate of $0.288 per gross registered tonne ($0.317/GRT inclusive of GST) are payable in respect of each ship in excess of 1,000 gross registered tonnes – note that the security charge of $0.002/GRT is included within the tonnage due.
