You need to complete an induction to access a North Queensland Bulk Ports' (NQBP) port or work in one of our offices.

People who may need to do this induction include delivery drivers, workers for tenants in port-secured areas, contractors, stevedores, transport companies and NQBP employees.

If you have an operational need to access the Port of Mackay, you must complete the induction to be granted an access card. You may need written confirmation of your operational need to work at the port.

Following these steps to complete your induction:

Step one: Click on "Start Induction" below.

Step two: Create an account.

Step three: Click on the Learning Category which applies to you:

  • Port users and Non-NQBP employees select ‘Port User - Non NQBP Employee.
  • or NQBP Employees or NQBP Contractors who work in an NQBP Office select NQBP Port and Office Worker - NQBP Employee

Step Four: Fill in all your personal details.

Step Five: Upload an Operational Needs Letter

Step six: Complete induction.

Step seven: You will receive a confirmation email of completion.

Collecting a Port of Mackay access card

If you need an access card, you can collect and pay for it at our Port Security Office:

Please note: Access cards are $75.00 including GST each. Payment is to be made by EFTPOS or credit card upon collection of your card.

When you don't need an access card

If you are just visiting the port, you may not require a Port Access card and therefore will not need to complete an induction.

However, you must be escorted at all times by an inducted person and must abide by all NQBP directions and requirements.

Visitors cannot conduct work activities while visiting.
