What’s happening?

Over the coming months, NQBP will upgrade sections of the esplanade footpath and a revetment wall. These works will form part of a broader program to improve public access and connectivity along the Port of Mackay’s Southern Breakwater.

As part of the works, a section of the existing footpath will be realigned closer to the beach. This will be supported by the replacement of an ageing timber revetment wall that has reached the end of its service life.
