openNorth Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP) is inviting local businesses and Purposeful Procurement businesses to register their interest in supporting delivery of the Bowen Marine Infrastructure Replacement Project (BMIRP).
The Project will deliver replacement marine infrastructure including a new recreational jetty for the Bowen community and, subject to funding and approval, a commercial wharf to support Abbot Point towage operations.
Shortly, NQBP will invite shortlisted Design and Construction contractors to tender for the BMIRP project.
Accordingly, NQBP is inviting local businesses and Purposeful Procurement supplier groups, including Indigenous, small business, women-owned and veteran-owned businesses, to register their capabilities so shortlisted contractors can better understand the strength of the local supply chain.
Under Queensland Procurement Policy, local business is determined as a business operating within 250 km from the location of the works.
While registration does not guarantee work on the project, it provides businesses with an opportunity to put themselves forward and be considered as contractors develop their project delivery plans.
Tenderers will be assessed on how they propose to engage local suppliers and deliver value for the Bowen community and Queensland.
Supplier registrations open Monday 3 August 2026 and close Friday 18 September 2026.
