Budding careers at North Queensland Bulk Ports

North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP) and MRAEL are partnering to offer three apprentice/traineeship horticultural positions in 2023.

NQBP CEO Nicolas Fertin said as a government-owned port authority, NQBP was proud to be providing local apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities at the Port of Mackay.

“It’s an excellent opportunity to work with a global leader in the sustainable facilitation of port trade,” Mr Fertin said.

“NQBP is one of Australia’s largest port authorities by tonnage throughput with around half of Queensland’s trade by tonnage, passing through our ports at Weipa, Abbot Point, Mackay and Hay Point.”

Mr Fertin said NQBP is seeking enthusiastic and motivated candidates wishing to learn from our experienced team and kick-start their career in horticulture.

“The roles will help deliver our land management operations and work programs while completing a Certificate II in Horticulture (trainee) or Certificate III in Parks and Gardens (apprentice),” Mr Fertin said.

“Ideally you will be a positive, enthusiastic self-starter, with a strong commitment to teamwork and safety.

“Equally important is a passion for horticulture/land management and an affinity with our company culture and values.

“You will also demonstrate our values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence and Unity every day, in everything you do.”

Apply by visiting MRAEL's website and search Job ID 634 and 635 before Monday 24 October.
