Unlock your marine science passion with the North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP) Marine Science Scholarship.
High school students can now apply for a unique opportunity to pursue marine science studies at James Cook University (JCU) in 2024.
This scholarship opens doors to a career in marine science by building important links to future employers with mentoring opportunities.

Since 2021 NQBP and JCU have awarded five scholarships to university students undertaking a Bachelor of Marine Science.
The scholarship program is part of NQBP’s broader long-term partnership with JCU, where researchers monitor the local marine environment surrounding four ports Weipa, Mackay, Hay Point and Abbot Point.
Trainee marine pilots earn their stripes

NQBP’s Bowen Wharf repair works completed
Repair works on the 150-year-old Bowen Wharf are now complete. Since late February, about $3.6 million worth of works has been carried out on the Wharf, which has seen parts of the aged timber structure repaired or replaced.
