North Queensland Bulk Ports (NQBP) wishes to inform the community that geotechnical investigation works will soon commence at Bowen Wharf as part of the planning for the Bowen Jetty project.
These investigations, being undertaken by Civil Geotechnical Consultants (CGC), are essential to assess site conditions and inform the project, ensuring its safety, longevity and alignment with community needs.
The investigation will involve borehole drilling at several locations: causeway, wharf and the new Jetty footprint (marine areas).
The works are scheduled to begin on Monday 10 November and will run for approximately one month.
The geotechnical data collected will help ensure the new Jetty is structurally sound and built to last.
Public access will be maintained wherever possible, with temporary detours and exclusion zones clearly marked for your safety.
Minor temporary closures may occur for equipment movements and clear signage will be in place.
