Round Top Island has the highest soft coral community of all inshore locations monitored. Total coral cover has remained consistently between 25-40% over time. Despite macroalgae increases across 2023-2024, hard and soft coral cover has held steady.

Presence of disease in the inshore coral communities of Mackay and Hay Point has fluctuated over 13 years of monitoring. Bleaching, however, has only been recorded alongside the region-wide accumulated sea surface temperature peak in 2020.
